Here they are, our 5 best dipping sauces and seasonings that’ll add some ooo-lala to your protein.  Many of these sauces can be amended and used as a dressing for salad or a side for dipping.  If you’re looking to up the flavor of bland protein or simply try something new that’s simple, these sauces are your solution.  We’ll say it, they work well on those other land-based proteins too.  But we stick with ocean proteins around here.

Tropical Mango Sauce or Dressing

Best use: A dipping sauce for our firecracker shrimp appetizer, a dressing for your favorite shrimp summer salad or the best sauce for baja fish taco night!

Storage: The mango sauce can be stored in the refrigerator for 24 -48 hours (if you can keep it around that long without eating it up)

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Saute onion, garlic and jalapeno for 3-5 minutes until onions are soft
  2. Add mango, lime juice, honey and salt and continue to saute until mango is warmed through
  3. Add to blender and process until smooth
  4. Add ¼ c water if needed to thin out sauce to be used as a dressing
  5. Place in a bowl for dipping or dressing container for pouring

Avocado cream sauce or dressing

Best use: Plated with a blackened white fish, such as Cobia,  a sauce for your favorite fish tacos  or replace your regular salsa with this creamy, dreamy sauce!

Storage: The avocado sauce can be stored in the  refrigerator for 2-3 days in an air tight container.  The acidic nature of the lime helps to maintain the pretty green color!

  1. Add all ingredients to a blender and mix until you have a smooth result
  2. To thin out the sauce for dressing consistency, add a touch more water

Shark Tank Shrimp Cocktail Sauce

Best use: Cocktail sauce and shrimp just go together.  Use it for steamed, poached or fried shrimp.

Storage: The cocktail sauce can be stored for up to one week in an airtight container in the coldest part of your refrigerator.

Tartar Sauce

Best use: A dipping sauce for fried shrimp, homemade fish sticks or the best condiment for a blackened fish slider sandwich.  

Storage: The tartar sauce can be stored for 3-5 days in an airtight container in the coldest part of your refrigerator.

Homemade Blackening Seasoning

Best use: Blacken your protein for taco night or add a cajun inspired flare to your seared protein.

Storage: You’ll want to double or triple this recipe to have on hand in a pinch!  You’ll be glad you did!
