Orange Cashew Shrimp Stir Fry Recipe

Isn’t this Orange Cashew Shrimp Stir Fry just beautiful?  This is what Instagram post dreams are made of.  When you’re cooking the shrimp make sure to keep the tails on, as it will add to the flavor.  They can be removed once they’re done cooking.


You will need (2) 6 oz Fish Fixe Shrimp 


  • ½ c Orange Juice 
  • ¼ Soy Ponzu 
  • 2 tsp Mirin rice wine (or 2 tsp rice vinegar + 1 tsp sugar)
  • 2 tsp Hoisin Sauce 
  • 1 tbsp Arrowroot Starch 
  • ¼ tsp Salt 


  • 2 tbsp sliced garlic 
  • 2 tbsp sliced ginger 
  • ½  red bell pepper, julienned
  • 1 onion, julienned
  • ¼ c matchstick carrots 
  • 1 c roasted cashews 
  • ¼ tsp sesame oil 
  • Sliced jalapeno or serrano pepper for spice


  1. Thaw and prepare the Fish Fixe Shrimp according to package instructions 
  2. Season shrimp with Fish Fixe Seasoning and a sprinkle of paprika
  3. Combine all ingredients for the sauce and set aside 
  4. Bring a heavy bottomed pan (we love to use our cast iron) to high heat – almost smoking. 
  5. Add in Cashews and toast for 2-3 minutes until they get a caramel color on most sides.  Remove cashews and set aside.
  6. Add 2 tsbp Avocado Oil and the jalapeno pepper and cook for 1 minute until beginning to char
  7. Add garlic and ginger, cook for a minute (the garlic and ginger should get a nice brown color – this tells you that your pan is hot enough)
  8. Add peppers, onions, and carrots , cook for another minute or 2.  Stir to allow all parts of veggies to get a nice char
  9. Add in shrimp and cook for about 3-4 minutes or until cooked through 
  10. Stir in prepared sauce, then fold in cashews and finish with a dash of sesame oil
